Tezpur, 1st Dec – An explosion took place in the Kamakhya-Dekargaon Intercity express on Saturday evening, at around 7.10 p.m. The explosion is reported to occur at the Harisingha Railway Station, Udalguri District. A number of 11 people are injured and are moved to the nearby hospital in Harisingha.
The Railway and Police Personnels immediately reached for the site as soon as they were informed. Investigation is being carried on to ascertain if it was really a bomb blast and the cause is yet to be identified. PRO of Northeast Frontier Railway, Nripen Bhattacharya stated, “It hasn’t yet been confirmed whether it was a Bomb Blast or Short Circuit Blast”.
However, the train movement was not affected due to the explosion and no major damages were caused.
