Maneuvering Tezpur’s beauty, the 4th version of the “Beautification of Tezpur” was observed through some skillful wall paintings at the premises of the Kanaklata Civil Hospital, conducted by a frontline NGO viz. Edupur Society on 11th March ’19.
The inaugural ceremony began around 11.30 am after the arrival of the Deputy Commissioner of Sonitpur, Narsingh Pawar, in presence of other dignified personalities viz. ADC, Sonitpur, K.K. Sarma, Joint Director of Health Services, Dr. Krishna Kampari, O/I Superintendent of the kanaklata Civil Hospital, Dr. TB Chetry, President and Secretary of Edupur Society Cpt. LC Bhuyan, founder secretary of Edupur Society, Amit Raj Konwar and many others.
The event was jointly supported by various ventures and individuals such as the Royal Aawas, HL Water Treatment, Saffron Restaurant, CA Sekhar Agarwal, Anand Sarma and Raj Kumar Mishra.
Mr. Bhuyan, in his welcoming speech explained about the beautifications’ initiative which originated in 2013 by Mr. Amit Raj Konwar and also appreciated Edupur Society for their intensive effort to beautify the city through safai abhiyans, swachhta pakhwada and certain awareness programs through various Organizations and sincere individuals. He also mentioned that this was the 4th Wall painting effected by the students of the Edupur Society followed by the Govt. MV School, Govt. Girls MV School & Tezpur College.
When handed over the mic to the DC, Mr. Pawar appreciated the continuous effort of Edupur Society and said that Assam’s abundance of natural resources is an invaluable gift of nature and should be utilized properly. He also said that cleanliness first starts at our own homes which, when done collectively and sincerely will automatically succeed the Swachhta Abhiyan of our nation.
Followed by the DC, the ADC, Mr. K.K. Sarma further said that if any journey is started by a sole person for a rightful cause, some or the other people will naturally join hands and the purpose would automatically be carried on smoothly.
After all speeches and some felicitations, Mr. Narsingh Pawar inaugurated the event by unveiling the paintings to be observed by all citizens. He also moved around the Civil Hospital freely with Mr. Sarma and other officials and discussed issues regarding the betterment of the hospital.
